ISO 14001 Gap Analysis
Newham College
An initial environmental review was undertaken on behalf of Newham College of Further Education.
The review enabled an understanding of the current systems for environmental management at the college and the level of awareness and understanding of environmental issues possessed by college personnel. A number of methods were employed in order to carry out the initial environmental review (IER). These were:
Initial discussions with the Director, Estates & Facilities Management and the Procurement manager for Estates and Facilities
- Walk round surveys
- A detailed gap analysis questionnaire
- A general environmental awareness questionnaire
- Discussions with the Buildings Administrator
This analysis enabled an understanding of the current position at Newham College with respect to the specific requirements of the environmental management standard, ISO 14001.
