Environmental Management System Workbook

An Environmental Management System (EMS) provides a structured approach to managing and improving a company's environmental performance, whilst helping it to meet the requirements of environmental legislation.

ISO 14001 is the internationally recognised EMS standard which provides a framework for companies who want to or need to implement an EMS. In fact, many larger companies require their suppliers to implement an EMS based on ISO 14001. However, deciding how to best to implement an EMS can be difficult if you lack the knowledge and / or resources. This is why Pro Enviro developed the EMS Workbook.

The EMS Workbook has been designed to help those with little or no experience of environmental management. It includes a step-by-step approach and practical advice for developing an EMS, plus worked examples and exercises to help you create the documents and records you need.

As you progress through the EMS Workbook you will gain a better understanding of what an EMS is, and be able to identify the resources needed in order for you to implement an effective EMS within your company. The workbook can be used as a stand-alone tool, or alongside any EMS consultancy / training programmes.
