Climate Change Conference 2005

This year sees introduction of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme, the UK assume the presidency of the G8 summit and the Kyoto Protocol come into force. There is no better time to make a concerted effort and take action, starting with a visit to the Fifth Annual Climate Change Solutions Conference, (24-25th May 2005), co-located with ET2005 at the NEC, Birmingham.

Taking on the major themes of European Renewable Energy & Environmental Technology Solutions, the Conference is designed to help engage decision makers on delivering climate change solutions through sessions from a broad range of speakers spread over two days.

Day One concentrates on the energy challenge in a changing climate and built environment whilst also including a Fuel Cell Technology partnering event. A distinguished array of speakers, including Lord Sainsbury (Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Science and Innovation), Allan Jones MBE (Chief Development Officer, London Climate Change Agency) and Charles Perry (BP plc. Director, Green Energy) are presenting on the opening day ahead of the Launch Reception.

Day Two is aimed at addressing issues pertaining to fuel cells and hydrogen, low carbon vehicles and the growing partnership between science and business to deliver climate change solutions. Speakers from Fuel Cell companies, universities and government agencies will be helping demonstrate that the time is right for business, science and the public sector to work in partnership over climate change issues and reduce the risk of further dramatic changes to our environment.

The list of things we will have to think about which will be affected by climate change is endless but with the regular use of renewable energy, delivering of sustainable regeneration and an accelerated shift into low carbon transportation will help mitigate the knock-on effects of global warming.

Pro Enviro is proud to continue their association with the Climate Change Conference, now in its fifth year. A full conference programme can be found on the conference website.
