Inspired by Nature

"Inspired by Nature" is a two-day festival to be held at beautiful Arley Hall, Cheshire on 8th and 9th October 2005. The festival celebrates nature and the natural world through the arts and includes music, fine art, sculpture, theatre, poetry and storytelling.

E4C is a not-for-profit organisation that provides a comprehensive range of resources for wildlife conservation educators throughout the world. E4C also works in partnership with NGOs, government departments and academic institutions to design, implement and deliver wildlife conservation education programmes.

4C is currently engaged in an exciting and innovative programme of activities delivering ecological education using the arts as a vehicle. Rather than focus on environmental problems and trying to find solutions, ecological education is about inspiring people and reconnecting them with nature and the natural world. The principle behind this is that experiential learning is one of the most effective ways of changing attitudes and as a result this encourages behavioural changes. This positive approach to working as part of our natural world rather than apart from it fosters the values needed to bring about change, and encourages people to respect and care for their environment.

Events and activities are being added on a daily basis: full and updated details can be found on E4C's website, www.education4conservation.org. Highlights already announced include a family of European wolves, birds of prey, Exmoor ponies, storytelling trees and an end-of-festival concert by internationally-renowned musician and songwriter Dougie MacLean.
