The Government has kicked 2010 off with the launch of a new NHS "Stressline" designed to offer assistance in dealing with stress-related issues such as worries about debt, housing and employment.
As the credit crunch continues to bite and people examine their finances after the festive season, the new NHS helpline will offer practical information and emotional support from trained health advisors.
Those who are suffering from stress, anxiety or depression will be directed to a wider package of financial and mental health support.
The helpline, which has been successfully piloted, is linked to the Government’s Talking Therapies programme and will be the focus of a new public awareness campaign in the New Year.
The facts show that:
The Stressline number is 0300 123 2000 and it is open daily from 8am to 10pm.
