Free waste reduction training

August 10, 2009

The Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) is offering two free half-day training sessions to Constructing Excellence members who want to learn more about reducing waste in the construction industry.

In a bid to encourage companies across the supply chain to sign up to the sector target of halving waste to landfill, the sessions will explain how best to use the range of free WRAP tools and resources available to help achieve cost savings and improved resource efficiency and waste reduction on construction projects.

This initiative is delivering changes in procurement practice, waste measurement and reporting, design, and site practice. A range of technical tools and resources support practical action, including training materials which other organisations can use.

WRAP has commissioned Cyril Sweett to deliver the training and the sessions will cover guidance on how to achieve waste and cost savings through the supply chain and information on using the Net Waste Tool to forecast waste arisings on projects.

The London workshop will take place on 12 August while the Manchester workshop is on 16 September. Further details and registration for both events are available at www.constructingexcellence.org.uk/events.
