A tanker carrying sewage has started to sink off Southampton, sparking environmental fears.
The Humber Star started taking on water at about 0600 GMT at the mouth of the River Itchen at Woolston and remains partially submerged on the jetty.
It is thought a quantity of sewage waste has leaked into the water along with diesel.
The oil spill response centre has been alerted and booms have been placed in the sea to contain the spill.
The spillage is being managed by the port operator Associated British Ports, which says the situation is under control but continuing.
