Man trapped by 1,500 tonne press

A man was trapped for nearly an hour under a 1,500 tonne metal press at a factory in Coventry.

The man was trapped by his chest and legs following the accident at the Coventry Press Work on Burnsall Road in the Canley area of the city.

He was treated by paramedics before being released by firefighters on Friday evening, he is being treated in hospital for chest and pelvic injuries.

The police and the Health and Safety Executive have begun an investigation.
