A manager who changed working patterns and allows staff to take time off for emergencies without feeling guilty has been named Britain's Best Boss.
Bruce Draper, managing director of Leamington Spa-based Geotechnical Instruments, said he was "passionate" about offering a work-life balance.
He was nominated for the award, run by Lloyds TSB and campaign group Working Families, by his PA Hannah Delany.
She said: "Bruce cares about his staff and never takes them for granted."
The engineering company offers childcare vouchers, free medical insurance, free breakfasts and fruit which Mr Draper said had had a "very positive" effect on the business.
Sarah Jackson, chief executive of Working Families, said: "Bruce Draper demonstrates how an inspiring, people-orientated boss can completely change the culture of a company."
