Every home in a West Midlands city will be able to leave out newspapers for recycling by the end of 2006.
Coventry City Council says it is extending its paper and cardboard collections to all houses by April and high-rise flats by September.
In addition, 85% of homes will be able to leave out garden waste for collection as well.
A council spokesman said it was the largest increase in recycling the city had ever undertaken.
