PPC permitting plan for food and drink sector

August 16, 2004

The Environment Agency has published a sector-permitting plan (SPP) for the food and drink sector under the pollution prevention and control (PPC) regime.

The Agency says the PPC SPP is part of a series of similar sector-facing plans, for sectors subject to the pollution prevention and control regime.

It aims to give operators in the food and drink sector a "steer" on the priority that the Environment Agency attaches to the various aspects of PPC.

The Agency says the SPP should therefore be of value in the preparation of PPC applications and during the determination process.

The SPP has been prepared to coincide with the PPC application windows for food and drink, ie of June to August 2004 and January to March 2005.
