European Commission taking legal action against Britain

The European Commission is taking legal action against Britain, Portugal and Italy for breaching EU environmental laws, the bloc's executive has said.
Britain is accused of failing to prohibit trade in all endangered animals and plants under EU protection. Additionally, Britain is accused of excluding Crown Land developments from environmental impact assessments and public consultations.
